Carnival Announces New Fun Ship 2.0

Carnival is announcing its new venture called "Fun Ships 2.0" to try and showcase how fun and hip they really are. Its quite an assertion, but Carnival has managed to live up to the hype for the most part.

The world's largest cruise line is adding many new features from headlining comedy shows to Food Network Star restaurants. Many changes are becoming available on current ships and a new cruise ship featuring all changes set to launch in 2012.

The world's largest cruise line is adding new features to all of its ships and all of the features of Fun Ship 2.0 will be showcased on their newest ship, the Carnival Breeze, set to launch in 2012. Carnival announced its full package which will include: the George Lopez-branded comedy club, with four shows nightly.

Carnival has hired Playlist Productions which will be responsible for stepping up the entertainment in the main theatre and elsewhere. There will be lots of new productions, both on the stage and through technology. DJ Irie, famous in the Florida area, is running discology school for Carnival's DJs, so expect new and exciting music in all of the clubs.

Meanwhile, the Carnival Liberty is the first to undergo the partial upgrade. Don't expect all of these extensive changes to happen overnight. Carnival's investment is reporterd to be $500 million, and it will likely be 2015 before all of these exciting upgrades are completed.

Many changes have already taken place on the Carnival Liberty which include the Lido deck in the centre pool area of the ship already, there's Guy's Burger Joint, the creation of Guy Fieri, the Food Network chef with the spiky blond hair and the inyour-face personality. They serve some of the best burgers to be found on any cruise ship, and it's part of your cruise price, as is the food from the Blue Iguana Cantina – same deck. Check out all the great changes and Happy Cruising! Check out Original

I hope you are able to take a cruise and see for yourself all of the changes Carnival is making. Leave a comment below if you have ever been on a Carnival and tell me about your experiences. Thanks!

Cruise enthusiasts now have additional choices when it comes to cruise destination. The Arabian Gulf offers tourists new sites and adventures rather the usual Caribbean or Mediterranean fare.

Several cruise lines have announced they will operate a weekly itinerary in the Arabian featuring Dubai as a major stop. Dubai has made major changes to its port to insure tourists have a world class port of call.

The Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) organized a grand welcome ceremony at the Dubai Cruise Terminal to mark the maiden calls of Costa Favalosa and Aida Blu cruise ships to Dubai.

The announcement for the newly-inducted cruise ships, which will offer weekly regional itinerary with Dubai as the home port, came at a ceremony attended by senior officials of Dubai Customs, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), DP World and World Security at the terminal and DTCM Director-General, Khalid A bin Sulayem, among others.

Costa Favalosa is a new cruise liner made by Costa Crociere of Italy and was inaugurated on July 2, 2011 in Trieste. The 114,500 tonnage ship has a carrying capacity of 3800 passengers and 1110 crew. Addressing a Press conference, Hamad bin Mejren, DTCM Executive Director for Business Tourism, said: “It has been over a decade since DTCM began to promote cruise tourism to Dubai. Our continued efforts in conjunction with our 18 overseas representative offices and the opening of the first state-of-the-art cruise terminal in Dubai in 2001 began to draw the attention of the cruise lines around the world when we received 17 ship calls and 6,900 passengers in the first year.”
